Horizontal tension wire balustrades give an open spacious feel. Easy to look after and great value.

STAINLESS STEELWORK – Our systems come in two grades of stainless steel, 304 grade for internal applications and a 316 marine grade for external applications.

DIAMETER – The round tube comes in two sizes, 42.4mm for a light system and a 48.3mm diameter for a stronger system. The 48mm is generally but not exclusively used for our outdoor projects. (40 x 40mm square box section is also available)

FINISH – Available in a brushed satin finish or bright polished. We recommend a bright polished finish in coastal locations.

TENSION WIRES – Our standard would be a 4mm 316 marine grade version as can be seen in most of our photos. We have a fully equipped rigging shop and as such we can offer different diameters and terminations.

TOP RAIL – In most designs a top rail is essential on a tension wire system as this rail forms a frame able to resist the tension loads. This rail can be dispensed with on some low load systems such as ground level decking areas where the system is a feature and not acting as a guard rail.

MOUNTING – The most common is a welded base plate with rosette cover for floor, deck mounting. Side mountings in various formats can cater for most situations.

MADE TO MEASURE – All of our systems are of a modular construction and are made to measure. Posts base plates are welded but items such as rail elbows, saddles etc are bonded in place during installation giving a smooth finish.

BUILDING REGULATIONS – NOTE: UK Building Regulations prevent the use of any climbable system infill such as horizontal wires on domestic balconies and certain areas with a drop greater than (600mm domestic applications). As such this system is generally suitable for commercial areas without small children; garden landscaping projects; domestic areas that do not need planning permission such as low level decks below.  Vertical wires and glass will comply with the regulations.

LOAD RATING –  We have test data available on request for all of our systems. All versions meet the  rating requirements for domestic use with some meeting higher ratings for commercial use.
